I’ve made peace with the fact that probably 2/5ths of my daily photos will be of food. This is because I like to cook. A LOT. I like having control over what goes into it and playing with ingredients. This photo however, is more about my attempts at a pantry stashdown.
I blame the food blogs I follow for getting me all into making soups lately. I used some of my homemade chicken stock to make a modified pasta e fagioli. I didn’t have the right noodles and wasn’t about to buy new ones when I had something SO CLOSE! So I cooked them till they were just pliable enough to cut, chopped them up and added them to the soup. I also used lentils instead of cannelini beans (cause that’s what I had), added the rest of the roast chicken from last week (I’d frozen it), added the liquid from the can of whole tomatoes, and 2 of my chicken stock cubes (I wanted more liquid). So good!
