I was sad to hear about Heavy D’s passing yesterday, his music was some of the earliest hip hop I was put on to in the 90’s. He & the Boyz were on a Memorex mixtape my first boyfriend made for me in ‘96, and have been on every incarnation of iPod & i Phone I’ve owned.
The only thing I can really do is to share some newish Heavy D you may not have heard before, released as a single in January and on a new album called ‘Love Opus’ just this past September. This is track 4, “I Can’t” feat. Anthony Hamilton.
